9/29/22 - Oaxaca City (Day 1)
Daily Highlights:
Woke up at 4:45am to fly out
Landed in Oaxaca, walked out of the airport to the main highway, and flagged down a bus that was going to the city center
Got dropped off downtown and walked 30 mins to the hostel, dropped my stuff off, and wandered around
Quickly figured out the light meter on the camera was not working because the battery is dead
Quite literally was shooting in the dark and trying to find a place that has this very specific small circular battery
Went back to the rooftop for happy hour and made friends
Went back to my room and met Issy, David, and Kate
Snagged some tlayudas for dinner
Went back to the rooftop and had some beers with everyone
Went to Convivio for a bit
Snagged a hamburguesa and tacos on the way back
9/30/22 - Oaxaca City (Day 2)
Daily Highlights:
Woke up early to get brekkie
Walked around the city in the morning with Issy
Tried to find a battery for the camera - went to a watch making store, but was not sure which battery was right, I will come back later with my camera in hand
But did not get the battery in time for the Hierve Al Agua trip, still shooting in the dark
Went on the Hierve Al Agua trip with the two Israelis’ + Issy, David, and Kate
Visited the widest tree in the world (very unexpected)
Went to a textile factory where they showed us how to make various dyes from plants and herbs (way cooler than I thought)
Went to a mezcaleria
Went to an overpriced buffet
Finally went to Hierve Al Agua for sunset
Came back very late and got wine + cheese with Issy, David, and Kate at the small little courtyard café around the corner from the hostel
Lovely end to the day
10/1/22 - Oaxaca City (Day 3)
Daily Highlights:
Woke up and got brekkie with everyone
Went walking around the city with David, got a new camera battery, and snagged some coffee at Praga
Then wandered around the city some more
Got drinks on the rooftop bar at sunset with David, Kate, and Issy
Then we cruised over to David’s friends hostel to have some drinks
After we went to Convivio for a show and then a club
10/2/22 - Oaxaca City (Day 4)
Daily Highlights:
Got brekkie and then wandered around the quiet early morning city to take photos
Did yoga on the rooftop with everyone
Went to a traditional temezcal sweat lodge with Issy and Charlotte
AMAZING
One of my favorite parts of the whole trip
Went to Don Juanito for dinner and had grasshoppers for the first time
Went to Convivio after for a few beverages
10/3/22 - Oaxaca City (Day 5)
Daily Highlights:
Went to Boulenc for brunch
Walked around the city with Issy for the whole day
Got mojitos on the rooftop bar and chilled for awhile in Jalatlaco
Snagged dinner with everyone at Homar
Said goodbye to David, Kate, and Issy - v sad
Went to hang out out at the little cafe around the corner for a while and then crashed early
10/4/22 - Oaxaca City (Day 6)
Daily Highlights:
Woke up early to wander and took photos one last time
Went back to get brekkie at the hostel
Wandered around some more
Got coffee around the corner
Took a taxi with friends to the airport to fly back
